Sunlight
Bright, indirect light is ideal. It tolerates lower light but growth will slow. Avoid direct afternoon sun, which scorches the leaves.
Watering
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil are dry. Every 1–2 weeks in warmer months, less in winter. When in doubt, wait another day.
Pet-friendly?
No. Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
tips
Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth every few weeks to keep them dust-free and photosynthesising well. Give it a moss pole to climb and you’ll be rewarded with much larger, more fenestrated leaves. And repot every 1–2 years — a rootbound Monstera will tell you by drinking water faster than you can give it.
